The Hinoki & Cherry Trivet, designed and made by Tosa Ryu, is so much more than a simple pot stand. When closed, its fragrant hinoki (Japanese Cypress) and Cherry wood strips form a small striped mat ideal for teapots. Flip the individual strips open and it becomes a larger slatted trivet, great for supporting large pans and dishes. There are various ways to flip the strips, making it even more versatile and an attractive multipurpose display stand.
One of the best things about Tosa Ryu is their dedication to sustainability. This Hinoki & Cherry Trivet is made from 100% local ecological forest thinning Shimanto Hinoki and Cherry Wood.

Tosa Ryu, established in 1970, is committed to producing eco-friendly wooden products. Based in Kochi Prefecture, it uses local ecological forest thinning hinoki (Japanese Cypress) and other woods for its wide range of household products. They take particular pride in using every part of the tree to produce smaller products, including small branches, leaves and tiny offcuts. Woods are naturally dried for three to six months before use, allowing them to retain the fragrance of their rich oils, and Tosaryu’s minimalist designs take care to highlight the natural beauty of the materials.
