MARIE IRIE WILLIAMS

Born in Kanagawa, Japan, Mari Irie Williams grew up in the UK and has lived in Norway and the U.S. Inspired by her travels and terracotta stoneware techniques of Japan, she has been producing hand-thrown pottery since settling back in the UK. From her studio in Penhurst, Kent, she creates contemporary pieces that echo the natural beauty of Japanese Bizen ware and the textured patterns of Onta ware.
