These petite celadon sweet dishes are a NiMi Projects favorite. Shaped like sections of bamboo leaves traditionally used in Japan to wrap mochi (sticky rice sweets), they are ideal for serving small extra-special treats. So simple in design, textured and edged with a darker glaze, they are also perfect for displaying a beloved piece of jewelry or trinket.
These were found packed away in a dusty box in the storage room of a former ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) family and are believed to come from the 1940s. We are so happy they were re-discovered!
