The Ban Inoue Large Vegetable Bag is just the right size to store a small bag of potatoes, onions, fruits or other foods that benefit from being aired. Its breathable cotton net fabric also makes it versatile for other uses in the home. Designed by craft exhibition planner Akiko Hino, the edges are French-seamed for strength and its base stitched into fold to ensure it opens out wide.
Made from 100% cotton mosquito net — a time-honoured craft textile of Nara — each one features tightly woven, traditional Japanese Sanada-himo cord handles that pair beautifully with the bags’ colours of nature.

Care instructions: Ban Inoue items are initially starched, they are designed to crumple and soften after washing. Wash in warm water and wring to soften and remove the starch before use. Items may shrink slightly.
Ban Inoue is based in Nara, one of Japan’s famed traditional rural craft regions that was once the heart of the nation’s mosquito net industry. By adapting the traditional cotton gauze weaving techniques, they create contemporary homeware textile items with a simplicity of beauty inspired by Azumi-Momoyama period Japanese arts, culture and nature.
