Designed by craft exhibition planner Akiko Hino, the edges are French-seamed for strength and its base stitched into fold to ensure it opens out wide.

Ban Inoue is based in Nara, one of Japan’s famed traditional rural craft regions that was once the heart of the nation’s mosquito net industry.
