Ceramic Japan’s Hanaemu speaks the language of flowers. Each pair of wooden chopsticks rests on a dainty porcelain petal from a symbolic bloom in Japan.
From the mountains comes the wild pink Sakura (cherry blossom), a bloom to make you smile. A blush pink Carnation with ruffled edges reminds others that you are thinking of them. The curled vivid orange Rose symbolizes emotional bonding and love.
Each petal is delicate in its details, from the soft gradation of colour of the Sakura, to the dotted yellow tip of the Carnation and the smooth curves of the Rose.

Ceramic Japan brings together contemporary designers with traditional ceramists in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, a region with a history of porcelain dating back to the 8th century. Porcelain clay is still sourced from the prefecture’s mountainous landscape and was originally fired using timber from local woodland. Artisans today use age-old techniques, now refined to perfection by modern equipment, making Ceramic Japan’s minimalist products a combination of innovative design and traditional craftsmanship.
