Maki Baxter's unusual Dipped Donut Dish is thrown on the wheel upside down, then trimmed with leather hard clay, to form a smooth undulating shape and a gentle dent in the center. A bold sculptural dish, the Dipped Donut plates make striking centerpieces for any table setting. The flecked grey and white gloss versions are ideal for serving a special dish and are dishwasher-safe. The Grey and Glass version is a display piece, its pool of glass making a stunning decorative highlight for any room.

Maki Baxter is an internationally minded artist born in California, raised in Tokyo and artistically inspired by Minimalism, Brutalism and the interpretation of shapes in nature. A Boston Tufts graduate, she worked within the luxury jewellery industry in New York before moving to Kent in the UK, where she pursued a personal passion for pottery.
Her unique works combine clean lines and stark colours with the warmth of natural, smooth and curved forms. Each is handmade and stamped with the kanji character representing her name Maki, a kanji that also describes a decorative Japanese lacquering technique that combines shell, metal and ivory.
